Bob Perhaps just a coincidence, but in researching my GGF Jared SMITH, born in NJ about 1814, and married a Huron Co girl, Elmira LOVE, in 1848, I came across a Betsey PARKS in the HH of Jared I SMITH and wife Sarah A, in the 1860 census for Ashtabula Co, Rome Twp, page 193. I haven't identified this as my family but wrote it down, because Elmira's sister Mary Elizabeth, eventually married a George PARK. Talk about a long shot! I have been searching for information about my ggrandfather James H. (Harrison) COOK for several years without any success. Just recently I learned that he went by his middle name part of his life. In the 1850 census I found a Harrison COOK that would be about the right age as my ggrandfather. The 1850 census lists: Aaron COOK age 63 born in NY; Rachel age 37 born in NY; Harrison age 9 born in OH; and Wm. age 7 born in OH. They resided in Townsend Twp. House # 825 Family # 843. Also found a marriage date for Aaron COOK and Rachel PETTIS (Could be PETTIE) for November 9, 1839 in Huron County, OH. Do any of your books have any information about any of the above COOK's? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dee Researching COOK, BRYANT and VINING in Huron Co., OH.

Hi, I am viewing my mail and answering as I go. So to continue, yes the Wechter in Norwalk are related to the Crawford families. Joseph died in Toledo on a buying trip. He blew out the gas light fixture in his hotel room not realizing that the gas would kill him. He had never seen a gas light fixture before and this was before they but the sulfur smell into the gas to warn people of leakages. He was originally buried in New Washington then moved to Norwalk when the family came back to this area to live. Hi, I saw you were researching Joseph Wechter and his wife Amelia. I have some more information on Amelia's ancestry if you are interested. She was the daughter of Anthony and Josephine Remley Fisher/Fischer. Josephine died giving birth to the first set of triplets that were born in 1860. She had other children and your Amelia was the oldest. If you would like more info let me know and I will invite you to my website. Hi Nancy, I just found this listing on Huron Co. OH, Index of Cemetery Inscriptions on a search engine, I think it's rootsweb. Are these people in the book you have? I'm assuming the number's are the Page #'s? Would you mind looking up the first two for me, I don't know if they are all related or not, but I have a Anna, and a Christina and I think an Elizabeth. Also, another little tidbit on page 246 that might help. This is the only BLAND references in the Huron County, Ohio Cemetery Inscriptions 1997 by the Huron County Chapter of the OGS. Kathy, Hi this is Laura Norma's daughter, now what are you doing asking everyone on the web about all this info (just kidding) I am going to the Norwalk Library next week and if you haven't gotten as answer by then I'll check some book and see what I can find out for you. Also, remember your Eberle group? I met a couple the other day at the library working on the same last name from Ottawa Co. I could have flipped, of course it wasn't the same names as yours but, he did give me some leads as to where to look that might help me find some answers to your family. Also, I found out that most of them are Catholic and the name is spelled either Eberle or Eberly and they both come from the same area. Which make digging for them a little bit harder. I will let you know as soon as I find more info. Thank you again for the scarf I love it and the post cards were beautiful and the stamps are great. It really was very kind of you. I'll talk to you soon, and let you know what I've found. Laura

Do you copy pages for someone like me that lives thousands of miles away? If so, please let me know how to go about that and how much money to send. I believe it is only 2 pages--413 and 414. These pages have the Braman info I am looking for on them I am also aware that Martha Braman is probably not buried in EastCreek Cemetery. Thank you LINDA BRAMAN LAIRD >> Hi Linda, The Huron County, Ohio Cemetery Inscriptions, by HCC/OGS, 1997, is protected by copyright law, which would prohibit the copying and dissemination of pages in this book to others. Hello. It seems that a lot of people move to HURON County from NY. In the 1850 Census my Lewis MILLER and Emmaline Horton were both born in NY. Most of their next door neighbors were from NY also. Family tradition was that they were from RODCHESTER NY area? Can anyone get me back to a specific NY County from Ohio ? Thanks Larry Kirklen 770-505-0506 lmk@avana.net
