    3. Looking for Thompson relation..... 1880 Wakeman, Huron Co. OH census: Date June 11, 1880 E. D. 158 sheet 19 line 21 page 275 A page John Brown age 38 Works in Flour mill Irish-born Maria age 41 John R. age 13 Joseph M. age 9 Anna Thompson age 19 Niece Irish-born parents Wakeman, Ohio is on Vermilion River on Hwy. 20 east of Norwalk, OH. I have this couple in the 1860, 1870 censuses in Richland Co. Ohio. Maria's parents lived with them John and Isabella Ro(d)gers. Joseph M. Brown was a member of the Masonic Lodge #46 in Cleveland, Ohio, as a rule someone must invite him into the group for membership. Seems likely that they would be Presbyterians then or formerly were. He worked on the New York Central railroad in Cleveland, OH. His brother, John R. Brown of 521 Medbury St. Detroit, MI a residence of apartments, November 1921 - Feb. 1922. Searching for info on the Flour mill near Wakeman on the Vermilion River in northern Ohio. Need Anna's parents' names. Any relation seen? Kay Diers km@diers.cc

So by your saving time by sending just one e-mail, my answer involves more time. So, if you can see my side of the picture, I do look-ups in short spurts, and the longer the list, the longer it takes. Sometimes, that extra 5 or 10 minutes carries over onto time I'm supposed to be doing something else. Names on one page, I'll gladly do at once. 3. Hello All, I am new to the list, and am hoping that someone can help me resolve a puzzle that I have in regard to the maiden name of a woman buried in the Steuben Cemetery in Greenfield Township. >From the Cemetery Inscriptions she is listed on p. 137 as "MATHERS, Margaret TRIMMER w/o James Mathers, b. 1 Mar 1751 d.31 Dec 1826. However, on a picture (through the kindness of Norma Miller) of this gravestone the inscription does not include the name Trimmer. Of course, this is a "little" disappointing... Is there anyone there in Huron County (or elsewhere!) who might have an idea how that name would appear in the index and not on the stone? Did someone write it into the original transcription of the stones? Was there once a member who was descended from Margaret who assisted in collecting the inscriptions? I would love to hear back about this. Thanks in advance, Susan ssauve@ecentral.com Lakewood, CO

    3. Hello, I am new to the list because of a lead that there were Seels in this area. A couple people have searched a little and we did find 2 Phillip Seel's in the area, but I don't think those 2 were mine. My Phillip (Philip) was born about 1823 and moved on to Michigan sometime. He was born in Dietz Nassau, Germany, which I believe the other Phillip was born, he was married to an Elizabeth, there is a marriage record out there for an Elizabeth and Phillip, but there is also cemetery inscriptions online for a Phillip and Elizabeth in Huron, which wouldn't be mine because they died in Michigan. Anyway, thought maybe one of your ancestors has him as a sibling, or maybe yours moved to Michigan also. Thanks, gina scott Kaiserslautern, Germany

They appear in the 1860 census in Norwalk and family lore says Patrick Timmins died in 1867 and was buried in St. Marys Cemetery. In the census he is listed as a grocer. He had three children Amelia born 1860, Elizabeth born 1863 and Bernard John born 1864-65. His wife also died around this time. Is there any information in any of the materials you have and any suggestions you might give me to follow up? I would appreciate any help you might give me. Cynthia Dean >> Hi Cynthia, I'm afraid I couldn't find much on your TIMMINS family. I did find a reference to the marriage of a Patrick TIMMINS, but in this case the bride was a Bridget SMITH, not Agnes KEELEY, and the year was 1869. I found no reference to a Patrick TIMMINS in our Huron County, Ohio Cemetery Inscriptions book. Nor could I find a reference to this person in our cemetery inscription books for Seneca County, and Erie County (St. Mary's Cemetery). Details: 1. Patrick TIMMINS, Townsend Twp, 262A. I note that Kathleen J. SMITH posted three queries on her TIMMINS family on the Queries link of the Huron County, Ohio home page (www.rootsweb.com/~ohhuron). These postings were made on June 19, 1998, August 3, 1998, and November 15, 1999. In these postings she mentions a Patrick TIMMINS. Maybe it would be worth your while to contact her, if you haven't already. Regards, Ken Shute, in MD (kwsroots@aol.com).

    3. Hi Nancy; Sorry I dumped so much on you at once. I really didn't expect you would transcribe as much as you did. I had a lot of the Maynard stuff, but thought perhaps someone had a better take on some of the stones; especially the small ones on Alanson's plot. I don't know if you are the person to point this out to, but there are 3 typo's in the book. You were right on Hannaa's death date being 1871. The name Alason which is in question is really Alanson Their were two of them. One died as a child. The name Daranzil is really Deranzil. They are nothing major, but if there is ever a reprint perhaps someone would want to make the corrections. I will be sending a donation to the Huron County Chapter of the OGS. I am considering joining and perhaps starting the process of getting on the first family and civil war lists. Excuse me if the above sounds critical. My writing sometimes comes out that way. I really appreciate your help, and I saw another name or two I am interested in. {;-) Grin Thanks, Dave Maynard On 07:14 PM 9/25/00 -0400, David Maynard heard nanpare say: ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Maynard" <maynard@dnet.net> To: "nanpare" <nanpare@accnorwalk.com> Sent: Thursday, September 21, 2000 10:02 AM Subject: cemetery look-up maynard > Hello Nancy; > > I have my direct line in good shape, but have a few fringes to clean > up. Huron Co. census indexes suggest he arrived in the 1820's and lived possibly into the 1860's. Does anyone have a copy of the Huron Co. will index that could please check to see if he left a will.
