Everything seems to fit. The three daughters of Lorinda listed in her estate were likely the Leona (10), Leola(8) and Diana (2) of the 1870 census. The first two would have been the daughters of s. Dickson, but living with their mother and step-father David T. Maynard. I believe there is a mistake in the information in the Military History citation. Alanson W. Maynard was my grandfather and died on his 87th birthday Aug. 21, 1921 at his home in Blooming Grove Twp., Richland Co. The Alanson that died Aug6, 1881 was probably his infant son, Alanson Ellis Maynard, who was born Aug 7, 1880 Would there be a death record for a child that young? Best regards, David Maynard Franklin NC maynard@dnet.net >> Hi David, Sorry, I goofed. In re-reading the article on page 16 re Alanson W. MAYNARD, I find I mistook the death date (August 6, 1881) of Alanson Ellis, son of Alanson W. and Polly (ELLIS) MAYNARD, for the death date of his father. This biographical sketch on Alanson W. MAYNARD is fairly detailed on his experiences during the Civil War, as well as on his family . It is too lengthy to give here, but if you have further interest, HCC/OGS has this publication (A Military History, etc.) on sale for $7.00 to non-Ohio residents. Go to the HCC/OGS home page (www.rootsweb.com/~ohuron) and click on Huron County Books for details. I looked in our Death Index, 1867-1908, for Huron County, Ohio for a reference to Alanson Ellis MAYNARD, without success. I note they do list death dates for young infants, however. You might write the Probate Court, Huron County Courthouse, 2 E. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio 44857 to see if they can help you. They are listed for holding birth and death records from 1867-1908. Hi, Can someone help me find out if B. Searl Daugherty and Rose Wechter married in Huron County? Their marriage date is 11/9/1908. B. Searl Daugherty was from Crawford county. Someone has checked those records and has not found record of his marriage. I know that B. Searl and Rose died in Huron County and were in the Cemetery Inscription book. I'm assuming that they married in Huron as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Judy

I asked someone else for a look up on the family of DAVID T. MAYNARD in Ripley Twp I received the information on David T. only. Is the information in a form where the entire household is together or must you have the names of all the individuals . I have most of the info on this family, but I have a couple of loose ends. David T. married Lorinda Dickson in 1865 and they had a child in 1868. In the 1860 census Lorinda was married to Samuel Dickson and had a 2 month old unnamed daughter. In the estate of Lorinda probated in 1893 it is stated she is survived by 3 daughters, Linda, Lioue?? and Diana Maude. Diana is the daughter of David and died in the Norwalk Infirmary in 1924. What I would like to find out is the two other daughters of Lorinda. Her first husband died in 1864 so I am assuming one of the daughters was the 2/12 year old of the 1860 census and the other was born in the early 1860's. How should I pursue this? I may have forced some of the pieces of this jigsaw puzzle to fit, but here's the scenario: David T. MAYNARD (1808-1884) m. Hi All, Ken Shute has a habit of keeping me out of trouble - by keeping me very busy! I'm not sure how he stays so busy himself unless he has a swarm of worker bees in his bonnet that he is not confessing to. <VBG> Anyway, if you go to the Huron County web site and click on the Archives link, you will find a new section listed there. Ken is busily transcribing the index to the Plat Map of 1850 for Huron County book. I think there are around 477 names in the index so far. He is transcribing in blocks and as he gets them to me, I'll be converting them to HTML and getting them uploaded. We have done A and B, so far. The rest will come as time allows. I'll let you know how we are progressing. Please go take a look, I think you'll appreciate the time and effort Ken has put into this. Once again, Ken you are earning your keep in Kitty Chow!!! :~) -- Peace, Judy Kelble OHGenWeb ASC http://www.scioto.org/OHGenWeb Huron County Chapter/OGS Webmaster / Mail list owner http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohhuron
