I had some from my line come to your county from New York as well as Pennsylvania. Also, Dephine Hanna is related to the McPhersons, she was at Oberlin College in 1885 and retired in 1920. I can send you my GEDCOM file, or my notes file if you interested in having the information. Spelling on McPhersons can be Mac, Ferson Phearson Furson Phirson and AAferson Thanks, Lowell >> Hi Lowell, Sorry, but I don't do lookups on a Surname alone. It could be overwhelming , and take away from the time I can spare on lookups for others. For example, a quick check of some of our Huron County, Ohio publications showed almost 120 references to the surname MCPHERSON. And that didn't include spelling variations.. These publications included our Cemetery Inscriptions book; Williams' History of the Fire Lands; the 1870 Census Index; and Baughman's History of Huron County, Ohio. If you go to the HCC/OGS home page (www.rootsweb.com/~ohhuron) and click on the link "Lookups," you'll find the guidelines , and names of books, that I and other volunteers use for their lookups. If you have a specific MCPHERSON forebear that you know lived in Huron County, Ohio, give me the full name, including middle initial if possible, and any other details such as period and place of residence, and I'll be happy to do a full search for the individual. Regards, Ken Shute, in MD (kwsroots@aol.com).
Dear Listers, I am hoping that these McMahon's are connected to the McMahon's of Huron County. I do have indications that Peter McMahon is and so perhaps, Mary is also. It looks like I have two connections of McMahon to McEnerny. My McMahon's are Mary and Peter. I am wondering if they could be brother and sister and both married McEnerny's? Here is the information I have so far. 1. Mary McMahon b. 1815 in Ireland; d. February 15, 1898 in Akron, OH; m. John McEnerny abt. 1846 in Ireland. Children: Michael b. Sept. 1847 in Ireland; Catherine, b. October 1856 near Ottawa, Ontario. There is also possibly a son, John, born 1852 in Ireland but so far I have not been able to make a solid connection there. Mary and family left Ontario and came to Ohio in 1864 according to daughter Catherine in the 1900 census of Akron, Ohio. Mary was widowed prior to 1870 and was a seamstress by trade. She remarried a fellow by the name of Thomas Wade on August 23, 1875 in Akron, Ohio. I have no further information on him other than he was 80 years old in the 1900 census. 2. Peter McMahon; b. 1820 in Ireland; d. unknown; m Catharine McEnerny on January 29, 1869 in Lawrence, Ohio. Children: Thomas; b. 1871; Catharine; b. 1872; George, b. 1876. All children were born in Lawrence, Ohio. Peter is noted in the 1880 census of Ironton, Ohio as a police officer and again in a society directory in 1893. After that he just seems to have disappeared. Any connections?? Regards, Anne Marie http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~menard/mcenerny/index.htm

Myrna, The correct spelling is: NINEVEH CEMETERY, and it is located in Greenwich Township. There are no SINGER's listed as buried there. But, in GROVE STREET CEMETERY, New London Township there is: Section 3, Row 4 SINGER, Anna S. 1873-1893 STONER, Velva V. 1894-1980 Roy L. 1893-1968 KIRKPATRICK, Philura STONER, 11 Jul 1870-27 Aug 1949 Hope this has helped you in your research. I received from a "Billy Strickland" an attachment that said something like "Christmas Gifts you can Make". I quickly deleted it and sent it to the TRASH. Thank you again Norma. I'm checking it out. Myrna
Thanks lots Norma, Diane found her for me. What great people we have here, I always get such great attention from everyone. Will try not to take advantage of everyone's help, but sometimes that brick wall is just to thick. LOL Myrna
I am trying to find the above Cemetery, but think the spelling is off. A article out of the Ashland press of May 4, 1893, "Nova" states that "L.B.Crittenden was at New London on Thursday where he acted as pall bearer for Mrs. Charley SINGER, who died on Tuesday, with la grippe and jaundice. She had given birth to a child a few weeks ago which makes the loss more sorrowful to the husband. Her maiden name was Stoner and her remains were placed in the Ninevah Cemetary" I didn't change any spelling that came from this article. I think the spelling of the cemetery must of been wrong, but I can't find anything similar. Anyone know of this place or person. I believe her first name was Anna. Charley is the son of John A. Singer. Charles E., his proper name, was born in 1871 in Ashland Co. OH. He would of been my Gr.Grandfather's nephew. Any help would be very much appreciated. Fellow listers, Does anyone have access to the 1900-1920 Census Indexes? Particularly, for 1900 & 1910, Willard, Richmond Twp. and 1920 New Haven Twp. I'm trying to find William EBINGER and his family. He was from Germany, his wife, Caroline. Also, my mother-in-law mentioned a book of old homes in Huron County, in which her grandparents above, were shown in front of their home. Thank you, Dianne L.
