Case Anyone on the list interested? o Lucy BUTTERFIELD was valedictorian of the class of 1914 at New London High School in Huron County, Ohio, graduated from St. Vincent's Charity Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland in 1918, and later worked in Detroit at Henry Ford Hospital. She married Louis PASTOR in the late 1940s and died without issue in Royal Oak, Oakland County, Michigan in 1986. Although we weren't related, Lucy and Louis PASTOR were the closest my brother, sister, and I had to grandparents and we remember them fondly. After Lucy's death, I received her (deteriorating_ valedictory speech scroll and high school and nursing school diplomas (both in excellent condition). I am at a dead end looking for any more information on George Eichenlaub (1805 to ?)....Specific information...(Eichenlaub translated to Oakleaf after arrival to the USA). If anyone can help me with any of the following information, I would greatly appreciate it. 1) What town (for sure) didhe came from in Germany or France. If it was Neoduredorn France [was Germany] (?) what documentation in print, shows that? 2) Where (what port) and when (what date) did he leave Germany/France and where (what port) and when (what date) did he arrive in the USA? 3) Did he come through New York at Ellis Island? 4) Did anyone (spouse, children, etc.) come with him? If so who? 5) Did he settle temporarily in New York? Possibly was it Lyons, Galen Township? Do you have any info on this? I show a George there, but no additional data. If so, how long and where and what dates? 6) Did he settle in Pennsylvania anywhere? If so, where (same questions as #5 above)? 7) Where does his son Jacob come in....I believe he may have come frome the same town in germany/france? 8) Did he settle temporarily in Michigan? I have some basic land records that show him (if it is the same George) in Newago County at 1850. He later showed up in St. Joseph County Colon Township (Centerville Mich) when his grandson Daniel (my great grandfather) was born. Do you have any more info on this? 9) Where did he go? Did he migrate to Wisconsin? Where did he die? 10) Where did his son Jacob go? Did he go to Wisconsin? Where did he die also? I show no records of Jacob or George in Ohio....one of the only originating points I know of where Oakleafs came in to Ohio early was Seneca County, Scipio Twp where Valentine Eichenlaub Sr.(Oakleaf) bought a plot of land....was in the 1850 Ohio Census. Perhaps George visited his son Valentine (Sr.), but there was no records of land, residence, etc. Please help if you can....I'm very interested in how tho get this informatio n, if it exists.
