I do not have a Huron Co. telephone book [actually live in Richland Co.] and I tried to find the Huron County Court House address on the internet, and, although I'm sure it's there somewhere, it evaded me. Judy, Would like to take this opportunity to say thank you. Maybe you will get some flack, but this seems to be a real virus, not one of those silly hoaxes we seem to get from well meaning "friends". How can anyone object to real information? First thing I do with this info, is go to Symantec and check it out. Yup, Anna is there. It never hurts to be on your toes. thanks a heap. Like you say, if you saved one computer, but hey, since it spreads thru email, you probably saved more than ONE. Does anyone know where that hahaha sexyfun one is coming from? I get it at least once a week. delete delete delete enjoy the day. gypsy
Hi All, Bronson, Clarksfield and Norwich township plat maps are now on-line. That brings us up to way over half of the townships done. :~) Follow the link in my signature file below to the main Huron County web site. Go to the archive link. Then take the link to the plat map 1845. Follow Ken's excellent instructions for finding the actual images of the plat maps! Good Morning, The Wakeman Library has just completed putting online The History of Wakeman Township by Weeks. Yesterday, I scanned the index to make it easier to find your ancestors. The book can be found here. http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Eohwcl/waketwpbookindex.htm Also, another list subscriber has been sending me some pictures of Clarksfield and the fire in Norwalk. They can be found here: http://thewesternreserve.com/thewesternreserve/Huron/armitagephotos/armitage photos.htm I had been building a site called The Western Reserve, but had pretty much decided to let it go because I didn't have the time to work on it. A friend of mine just did a search for Clarksfield and found my site rather quickly, so I decided to leave it up and work on it as I can. Thanks. Hi! I have the seemingly impossible task of trying to find a surname. The following is information that I know: a.. Lovina was born 1802 in Rochester, Beaver County, Pennsylvania that is the information from death certificate in Huron County, Ohio, no parents listed. b.. Lovina married Johnston REA. Where I do not know. I do have her as the wife on deeds starting in 1838. c.. Lovina is not on the 1850 census with Johnston REA. The wife's name is listed as Melissa. d.. Lovina shows up on the 1860, 1870, and 1880 census as Johnston REA's wife. e.. The death certificate for Johnston's daughter lists a Melissa EMMONS as the mother. f.. I have a marriage certificate for Elizabeth JOHNSTON/Johnston REA, from Lorain County, Ohio, with the date of April 25, 1833. g.. I know from the obituary that Johnston REA emigrated from Ireland in 1818, first going to New Brunswick, Canada, then to PA before settling in OH. He does not show up in the book (kindly looked up by a lady I found on the Beaver County site) of PA Immigrants. h.. I have posted to the Beaver County site. I believe that I have 'covered all my bases' in my search for Lovina's surname. I would appreciate any other avenues to pursue. If it would be possible to check the JOHNSTON and EMMONS surname to see if anything fits I would be very thankful. Thank you for reading this and may all your endeavors be fruitful! I am trying to find the town where my g-grandfather, EDWARD RYAN was born in Ireland, 19 Feb 1842. He came to the USA around 1857. His death record states that his father's name was PATRICK RYAN, mother unknown. I would like to know if there any other relatives. I have seen queries about Ryan's in 1860 time period in Huron County and was wondering if there is connection. EDWARD RYAN joined the Ohio Volunteer Infantry 25th Regiment Co. 'E' 1 Sept 1864 under an assumed name of EDWIND HINDS and fought in the Civil War. He was wounded at Honey Hill, SC. He was honorably discharged 15 Jul 1865. EDWARD RYAN was married to ANNA WALTERS 12 Nov 1865 in Huron County, Norwalk Ohio. ANNA WALTERS was born 5 Aug 1844 in Ontario, Canada or Ireland. I would also like to know who her parents were and any other relatives also information on her correct birthplace. I have a copy of the 1870 census of Norwalk Village in the county of Huron, Ohio. The census states EDWARD RYAN wife ANNA was born in Ireland and they have three children EDWARD, MARY & GEORGE. I also have a 1900 Garfield Twp., Newaygo, Michigan census that states ANNA was born in Ontario, Canada and her mother was born in Ireland. I also have records with different spelling of ANNA's last name WALTERS, WATTERS & WATERS. I have information on EDWARD & ANNA RYAN after they came to Michigan, that I'm willing to share. My grandmother was SARAH RYAN and was married to WILLIAM A. SUMNER. My mother's maiden name was ANNA LUCILLE SUMNER. William A. Paret Sr. E-mail: wmparet@aol.com
Am looking for any information on Sweets and Carrolls/Carrells in the Huron County, Norwalk area. Seems the Sweets were foster parents and possibly related to the Carrolls. Last known, Peggy Carroll was in the Norwalk area in 1971. Does anyone have any information on this family? They possibly moved on to Pikeville, Ky Trying to locate names of the Sweets that were in the area at this time. Any information you have on eithr family would be greatly appreciated! Sincerely, Barbara S.
This (once again) came from another site that I am on. http://www.homestead.com/pensioners/invalid.html This will take you to a page that you can then choose the state you want to search. All states are not there - but it *was* 1813. If you go to the left of the screen you will see an 1883 Pensioners link and an 1890 Veterans and widows Special Census. Good luck! Mary McG in Tennessee

She and most of her classmates in this picture are also listed in the Peru Village School Pupils of 1914, found in the Huron County Kinologist you cite.
