My gg-grandmother, Eunice DAY, married William H. TAYLOR in Huron Co. in 1850. Eunice was born in 1826 in Vermont and died in Branch Co., Michigan in 1893. Eunice and William were living in Clarksfield in Huron Co. when the 1850 census was taken. By 1860, they had moved to Branch Co. I have messages with speculation as to who Eunice's parents were, but no proof. Does anyone have a family that Eunice might belong to? I know that there were lots of DAYs in Huron Co. Hi all, The cemetery index is available at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/oh/huron/huron.htm You can download a portion of the index, or all of it, to search for your ancestors. This is a full name index, so you should be able to limit your searches to a few requests at a time. It is a longshot however I thought that I would try and post here since ther are some oldtimers from the area that may remember them. Thank you so much, it is URGENT that I find them. There is a "Gus" W. LIEDORFF 1886-1974 & wife Katherine M. (?) Liedorff 1889-1951 buried in Hartland Ridge Cemetery, Hartland twp, Huron Co. There were (at least) two LEIDORF brothers that used this different surname. One moved to Missouri and the other (Gus's father) remained in Huron Co. This is the closest I have to a "Gust". (BTW There is a Beryl Leidorf buried in Erie Co.) Hello, Someone passed this on the OHROOTS list, and noticing Diana's reference to Cleveland, thought it might be useful. Mostly Cleveland Press or Plain Dealer, but surprisingly I was able to find several items of use to me, hope someone else can too! Besides surnames, the search engine will also accept terms like Norwalk ohio, which brought up 118 matches and Huron County Ohio, which brought up 10. http://dxsrv4.cpl.org/WebZ/html/obit_about.html?sessionid=01-3438-419458052 Also on the library site is a more recent search for other news items.
