Would there be a listing for the burial of John P. Behler, I don't have a burial date. I only know he lived in Huron County and was naturalized in 1854. If there is, are there any other Behler's buried near him? Thank you. Kathy Baker
I'm not sure about the name of this newspaper, it was marked Experiment, and it is probably from Norwalk, Ohio. There are two short items re deaths on Mrs. Sarah Jane Bolton and the death of Mrs. King. The other is the death of Beriah B. Peabody of Grafton, Lorain County, Ohio. Married: At Plymouth, on the 23d inst., by H. Baughman, Esq., Mr. N.J. Boughton, of Peru, and Miss Betsey O. Hedges, of Cass Township, Richland county. If you'd like a scan let me know please. I'm afraid I still have to stick up for Paul. If he has a virus he's really not able to reply until he gets rid of it. Believe me I spent all evening after work dealing w/ this thing! The virus lays dormant for a while, abt 24 hours. It then replies to ANY email you read, you don't need to even reply. In fact unless you have an updated virus scanner you don't even have to "open" the attachment. you will double-click on it & it will say it can't open. However that too is part of the virus, actually it did open & has launched itself! It sent itself out to people that were not in my address book. I know this is hard to understand & believe but that's why virus' are so awful! When I finally updated Norton Utilities it found I had 3 infected files, 2 were messages that appeared to be replies to a Huron co., OH query. It looked like a real reply , you can tell it's the virus b/c at the end of quoting your own message it says: take a look to the attachment". Rootsweb has a filter so the virus can't go to the list, but it can go to individuals. I'm sorry to take up so much space w/ this but felt I needed to let everyone know what's going on. As per my previous message this is a virus that started in New Zealand, no one is now spreading it on purpose. Don't blame Paul. There is a virus going around "WB32Bad TransA" My virus checker wasn't updated & I "caught" it on Tuesday. The person who sent it didn't know & likewise I sent it & didn't know. The virus sends itself to people in your address book, that's what a virus does. it doesn't wip anything out but is very annoying and embarassing. So please don't blame individuals. I updated & disinfected my computer. Below was a message I rec'd on another list concerning this virus: > McAfee discovered a nasty new Internet worm "in the wild" on April 11, 2001 > and traced its origin to New Zealand. Cindy, No one was blaming Paul. We haven't heard back from him, he's not on the mailing list, we wrote to him and asked him about it, and he hasn't responded. This virus isn't the same as the one that clones itself to a address book name, and sends a blank message, it had a message for us to "look at the attachment", so until we hear from this person I'm afraid he is under suspicion. If he's innocent he should speak up.

Hi all, I am forwarding a message that you all need to see. I, also, got a post from this person. He seemed to be sending me a "fix" for the problems that I had a while ago with the web page. I wrote back to him telling him that I did not EVER open unexpected attachments. I have not heard from him. I'll be letting the people know at Rootsweb, but this did not come to the mail list. It came personally in referrence to something I had put on the mail list. PLEASE be careful. I thought I was being silly by not opening up the attachment, but did not recognize the file type. I guess this is a very good lesson for us not to open attachments until you have verified their safety by asking the sender! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR VIRUS CHECKER UPDATED!!! ****** Forwarded Message Follows ******* Hi Judy, I thought I should let you know what happened to me yesterday through a inquiry I placed on the Huron-L site, I had asked about my John Singer of New London, and I received a personal reply from someone named PAUL THOMAS grayston@comteck.com This is what was in the mailing. "Myrna Casey wrote: Hi Deborah, I saw your message about the Ryan's, and noticed your from the Norwalk Library. I have been trying to find John A. Singer......(It continues from there, but I'll leave it out as this isn't the part that is a problem.) This Paul person wrote: >Take a look to the attachment. When I checked out the attachment my virus protection came on and said it was a infected file. It could not fix it, clean it or anything, so I deleted it. I also wrote back to "Paul" and told him, but so far I haven't had any response back. I don't know if he's a regular member of this mailing list, I don't remember seeing his name before, and I've been on it for over a year I believe, and I'm worried he may be someone who is jumping in and sending virus's on purpose. I've had experience with that happening before, and since he hasn't responded, I thought you may want to check him out, maybe he's associated with the Library in Norwalk, and it's perfectly innocent, but it bother's me. I don't want others on the list to get reply's and end up with a virus if this is hanky panky. The reason I'm kind of suspicious is that no one else has been able to find any info on John since the 1880 census of Ashland Co., and this really looked good, but thank goodness my program grabbed the monster. I decided to write to you personally, so as not to upset others. Let me know what you think. Myrna Singer Casey
Looking for a connection between the Jacob Vail of Orange Co., NY 1820-1840 & the Jacob Vail/Vale in the Ohio River Valley area of PA/OH. My John Courtright of the Minisink Valley also moved to the Ohio River Valley area by 1800. A Jacob Vail bought land in Seneca Co., OH in 1841, by 1850 some of both Vail & Courtright families had moved from Jefferson co., OH to Huron/Seneca Co., OH. Thanks, Cindy

I should have added this to my previous Decker message. Also in the 1850 Huron Co., OH area was this Decker family. Would love to connect him to the Peter mentioned before. This family has know connections to the Courtrights, as Catherine was the d/o Leonard Brink & Rachel Courtright. But my question is how does he, if in fact he does, connect to my Courtrights. Rachel Courtright was the d/o Bastian C. & Rachel Decker. Interestingly another child, Solomon b. 1754 also moved to Huron co., OH & died there in 1844. I would suspect that my John was a son except that the name Solomon never appears in the family. However Harmon B. Courtright (who I've posted a message on previously) b. 6/24/1827 NY - d. 5/23/1897 Huron co., OH could be a desc. of Solomon. 1 Richard Decker b: 1764 NJ d: Aft. 1850 Huron co., OH .. +Catherine Brink b: 1777 Orange Co.,NY m: Nov 20, 1790 Machemack RDC, Orange Co., NY, by Rev.
