FYI - There was a terrible economic depression in the 1820s in Upstate NY. Also, after the Erie Canal opened, many people boarded flatboats and headed with their possessions to Ohio where they then joined wagon trains into Indianna and Illinois. My family landed in Ohio and then bought a team of oxen that they drove to Chicago, camping in the immigrant camp on the bank of the Chicago River while my g3gf trekked to what is now the northwestern suburbs of the city to homestead in 1837 and found towns there. Others in the family went into Ohio (Clarksfield) and stayed a few years, then moved on westward. Some of the children married in Ohio and stayed. They were Carleys, Barnums, VanHoutens, Cadys. Do you have any hanging in your tree? Judy Schreiber

I do not see any Bunkers in the cemetery index either. I am wondering if he was actually buried in Monroeville. I have an ancestor's whose death certificate states he was buried in Ripley Twp. Huron County, but he is not listed in the cemetery index and I have not found a gravesite for him although there are a couple of 'empty lots' next to a brother. I am thinking he is either buried somewhere unmarked, possibly in the 'empty lots', or was actually buried somewhere else than what was recorded. _________________________________________________________________ FREE pop-up blocking with the new MSN Toolbar get it now! http://toolbar.msn.com/go/onm00200415ave/direct/01/

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT A DEATH DID OCCUR IN MONROVILLE AND BURIAL WAS NOT RECORDED IN CEMETRIES RECORDS. WITH NO HEADSTONE.IF BURIED IN ST.JOE'S. CHECK WITH THE CHURCH,IF PERSONS FUNERAL WAS HELD THERE THEY SHOULD HAVE A RECORD BUT MAY NOT HAVE A LOT NUMBER. Looking for any one with the name MOSER or MOSIER in their line. The first of my MOSIER / MOSER line arrived in HURON Co. Ohio in 1851. The 1860 Huron Co. census list them as German. (They spoke German but they were from Switzerland.) I have the birth records from Switzerland on my Swiss MOSER / MOSIER family going back as far as the 1600s. I Will share my documented information. (Free) With any one connected to my line. Thank you Elizabeth R. Kirkpatrick ElizRKirk @aol.com
Hi Fellow Researchers, I have been on the list for some time, mostly I read and learn. I have known for some time that my GG Grandfather lived in Norwalk back in 1829, but never knew of his family. Until now! I found what I beleive is his family in the Passenger Arrivals at the Port of New York 1820-1829... Herman, Francois J. 43 Madalein 36 Francois 12 (my GG Grandfather) George 10 Madalein 8 (married Peter STANG ) Philippe 6 1/2 Marianne 4 Carl 1/12 All born in France and arrived in New York Aughst 3, 1829. My GG Grandfather got his citiztien papers in Norwalk in 1840, had a daughter born in 1842, so I am assuming her married in Norwalk also. About 1831 he had another daughter Catherine she married Joseph VOGT And a son Lewis, I beleive his real name was Aloysius. I am wondering if these names mean anything to any one or has any one ever came across any of them? Any help would be greatly appricated.......Penny
