Paint Township is in the north east corner of Holmes County. The Greenville Line goes through it's center from east to west. Before 1824 the north half was part of Wayne County. The south half Coshocton or some part of Tuscawaras. Can't find that right now. In the Atlas of 1907: Land owners of Paint Township 1825 Abner Ramage and Alex Twaddle are listed. In the Early Land Records of Wayne County these surnames are not listed as land owners. Nor in the 1826 Tax Book. So these persons must have lived in the south half.
