I have an ancestor named Jennie (? Jane) McClugage McAlister who had roots in Peters Twp., Washington co., PA. I am trying to find her parents and in doing so have found reference to census records from 1810-1840 in Washington and Allegheny counties (only names shown were for "head of family", and shown as John & George.) In 1850, we see a cluster of this surname showing in Kilbuck, Twp., Holmes co., Ohio. [Andrew, Elenor, John, Thomas] Hmm…the families might have migrated from PA to OH.
