Hi to Pat and Everyone; I've not been on this list long, but joined when I realized some of my Tuscarawas Co., OH families moved into Holmes Co.. I'm researching George and Rebekah RICHARDSON, early settlers in the Sugarcreek/Shanesville area of Tuscarawas Co.. Families affiliated with the Richardsons include: WALTER, SHOWALTER, MILLER and WINKELPLECK to name a few. I'm very interested in finding out if one of George Sr.'s sons, Allen, might have moved to Holmes Co. by the time of the 1830 census -- there is an Allen Richardson listed in the census index in Salt Creek Twp (p 306). I don't have access to census records (except for those covering Western North Carolina - which is where I live), and I'd greatly appreciate any assistance regarding this entry. I would love to hear from anyone researching these families - and I would be happy to share whatever info I have. One more question: Ann, I just saw your reference to John "Indian" Miller. I've seen John Miller b abt 1724; d abt 1789, Somerset Co., PA referred to this way, and I was wondering if this is who you were talking about? If so, I was curious how the "Indian" came to be? (My Richardson's tie to the Miller family via Zachariah and Gertrude (Hochstetler) Miller's daughter Elizabeth, who married Allen Richardson, son of George (Jr.) and Barbara (Walter) Richardson.
