    3. Did you know that SOME libraries do limited research by mail? Many charge for just the costs of copying the info and mailing it. Normal procedure for long-distance research is: 1. Send the initial inquiry to the library stating as much as you know about the ancestor. (Many libraries with internet access will accept initial inquires by email.) 2. The libraries check their resources for info on your ancestor. 3. They contact you, stating how much $ to send for cost of copies. 4. You forward the funds along with a self-addressed stamped envelope. Sometimes they only have census records, but anything these libraries have available is a help when one doesn't live near the area! If you need the address of a library, check: http://www.acclaimed.com/helpful/ for more than 9,000 U.S. public libraries and addresses, phone numbers, and some email addresses. This same website also offers a list of 1500+ U.S. newspapers! Cindy Kimes
