Seeking information on George Ortho(e)ffer and his wife, Salome Tannemann. George was born 1816 Alsace, died 1915 Jefferson Twp. Knox Co. Ohio; Salome born 1823 Alsace, died 1892 also Jefferson Twp. Their only child appears to have been Mary Orthoeffer, 1844-1847, buried Old Chapel Catholic Cemetery, Richland Township, Holmes County, Ohio. George and Salome are buried at the Kaylor Ridge Cemetery, Knox Township, Holmes County. They were sponsors for several children baptized at the Kaylor Ridge (St. John) Lutheran church as early as 1843. Looking for a possible connection between Salome Tannemann Orthoeffer and Magdalena Tannemann, first wife of Christian Smith/Schmid(t). Magdalena was born 1810 Alsace, died 1862 Knox Twp. Holmes Co. Ohio; Christian Smith born 1810, died 1896 Knox Twp. Holmes Co. Smith children include Salome (Sarah) born 1834 married Bradford D. Harris and Michael Young; Louisa born c1836; Magdalena born 1839 married Philip Smithhisler; Carolina born 1843 married Henry Breitenbucher, James Scott; and Heinrich, 1847-1847. Thanks!
