Hallo again, My apologies, I should have included in my original message that the German spelling of the surname is "KOEMPEL" (or KOMPEL with umlauted "O"), and quite likely changed to Kimble, Kimball, Kempel, Kembal, etc. upon settling in America. I am aware of 3 immigrants to America ca. 1835-1840, and have a clue of at least 1 or 2 that appear to have been imported as "Hessian Soldiers" during the American Revolution.
