Elijah Loveland was a wealthy horse dealer. He had been sheriff of Holmes County and state representative from this district. He was a contractor of horses for the army during the Civil War. Beriah Loveland (1812-18910, wife of William W. Thornburg, who lived and died near Mt. Hope, was my direct ancestor. Was she related to Elijah Loveland?
