    1. Dougan/Dugan family of Killbuck Township
    2. Alison Bigbee
    3. Hi, My name is Alison Bigbee and I am new to the list so please bear with me!! I am currently researching the Dougan/Dugan family from Killbuck/Mechanic Twp, Holmes County, Ohio. The head of the family, Robert Dougan, purchased land in Holmes County in 1826--he passed away in Fayette County, PA in 1834 and in his will, mentions sons James Dougan of Holmes County (I believe that James Dougan/Dugan lived in Mechanic Twp and died in 1849), Robert Dougan and William Dougan (a minor in 1834). I have found William Dougan (age 33), in the District #75 Killbuck Twp 1850 census living with wife Ester (age 33), children Margaret (age 6--born in PA--I would assume Fayette County), Sarah (age 5--born in Ohio), James P. (age 2) and baby Elizabeth. Also living with William Dougan is his mother (wife of Robert Dougan Sr.), Margaret (age 75--her maiden name was McClelland) and a Robert C. Dougan (age 15). I am looking for any information on this family--I am descended from a brother of Robert Dougan, John Dougan, who married Margaret McClelland's sister, Catherine. I am at a brick wall with the Dougans and McClellands (both McClelland sisters state in the 1850 census that they were born in NJ--Catherine was age 82 in Harrison County, Ohio in 1850 living with her daughter). I would assume that Margaret McClelland died between 1850 and 1860--I do not find her in the 1860 census....would anyone have an idea where Margaret McClelland Dougan may be buried (I was hoping to find a birthdate)--I don't know of any cemetaries in Killbuck Twp. I do know that the Dougans were Presbyterians. Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you so much! Alison in Phoenix
