My lines of research concentration in Holmes Co at the moment are: MILLER/HERSHBERGER/STUTZMAN/TROYER I have most info from the "Amish and Amish - Mennonite Genealogies" and the OMII site. I have a problem with a date and am hoping someone is a member of the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church. My grandfather Sylvanus "Venus" Hershberger was a minister there many yrs ago. I have been gathering d/cs for the Miller line for the last yr at the OHS. I have been unable to get Emanuel A. Hershberger's. My ggrandfather. I ck the OMII site and the date is different than the one dad gave me. Dad said he thought his grandfather died in 1942 the site gives a date in 1952. My request is if someone is a member and wouldn't mind cking the marker on the grave. I will be spending time at the Mohican again this summer to photograph some of the cemeteries and get some of the info at Millersburg that I can't get at the state level. Also if anyone is aware of a bk out that takes the Amish/Menno lines bk to the 1500's in Europe naming families and villages I would like to get that as well. It is not the "Amish and Amish/Mennonite Genealogies." I am told it is more current and the name does not give a clue that it is a Amish/Menno history bk. A woman who works at a private library told me abt it and I can't find my paper with the info on it. I would like to get a copy for my dad, myself and the Holmes Co Chpt OGS to go with the other 2 I gave abt John "Indian" Miller and the "Amish and Amish/Mennonite Genealogies" So if any one knows the title and where I can get copies I would dearly love to hear from you.
