By any chance are there members of this list who are members of the ALLISON family that eventually made its way to Holmes County from Maryland, via Hancock County, WV. In particular, searching for the descendants of Charles and Barbara Moore Allison of Maryland whose descendants are found in Holmes County. We're desperately searching for the list tribes of this huge American family that is well organized through a very active 540 member organization, The National Allison (Allanson) Family Association. The organization is composed of descendants of Thomas Allanson/Allison (1639-1684), Lord of Christian Temple Manor, a Gentleman of London, England and Charles County, Maryland. The association publishes quarterly "The Allison Family Voice" plus holds a huge national level family reunion each year in western NC where the largest population of the family is centered today. I understand from a family member who resides in the county that some erroneous historical information may have led some members of our family in Holmes County to believe that they are of Scottish origins instead of English. That has no doubt led to difficulty in locating these lost cousins so that we can reunite them with the greater family. Would love to hear from any Allisons in Holmes County!
