I have been interested in your messages regarding Joseph Mattocks. Do you have any knowledge of this Joseph and Elizabeth Mattock (see census record below) that are living in the household of Parkinson Grant? From notes I have, Eliz. husband' s name was Joseph Mattock and he died. Elizabeth was living in Parkinson Grant household in 1850. "Probable reason", but no SOURCE for this, is that Elizabeth Mattock was the mother of Parkinson Grant's wife Mary Ann Mattock (b. abt 1820 OH) and that Joseph would be Mary Ann's brother.
