I need so help in solving a family mystery. My gg-grandfather was James Cornelius WILLIAMS. He was born in Gettysburg, PA on October 26 1831. He married a Harriet (Hattie) MCFARLAND who was born in OH around 1840/41 according to census information. They raise a family in Auglaize County, OH. She was not living in Auglaize during the 1850 census so I believe that she is from some were else in OH. Their children were Levi, Elizabeth, Matha, Cornelius, Benjamin, and Mary. All of the children were born in Auglaize County. I looked on the LDS web site and they do list James M. WILLIAMS born in PA in 1831 who is married to a Harriet CLOSE born in OH in 1841. They were married on June 6,1862 in Holmes County, OH. LDS also list their children as Levi, Elizabeth, Matha, Cornelius, Benjamin, and Mary. All of the children were born in Auglaize County with the same birth dates just like James C. WILLIAMS� children. Since the family information is the same, could James M. and James C. be the same? What is Harriet real last name? Does anyone know about WILLIAMS, CLOSE or MCFARLAND in Holmes County in the Mid 1800�s?
