    3. Seeking information on the family of SAMUEL and ELIZABETH NORTH, to Holmes Co., OH, from Allegany Co., MD, in 1831. Lived in Holmes County until 1844, when they reportedly moved to IA. In August 1850, Elizabeth petitioned a MD court, giving place of residence as Holmes County, stating Samuel had died, intestate, 1848. Inquiry to Holmes Co. Probate Division discovered no estate records for Samuel North, nor guardianship records for any infant North children. Although Elizabeth stated she was of Holmes Co. in August 1850, no Norths appear in the 1850 Census for Holmes County. The North household was listed in the 1840 Census of Holmes Co., Mechanic Township, as follows: Sam North 1M-5 / 1M 10-15 / 1M 30-40 / 1F-5 / 2F 5-10 / 1F 10-15 / 1F 15-20 / 1F 30-40 In 1830 Census of Allegany Co., MD, Samuel & Elizabeth had no children; hence, the 15-20 year old female in this 1840 household was probably not a daughter. Samuel had brothers David North and Michael North, both in Ohio by 1831. He had sisters Mary Zimmerly (w/o Jacob Zimmerly), Susan Burgess (w/o Jeremiah Burgess), and Nancy Cheney (w/o Elemuel Cheney), all living in Ohio in 1831. Another sister, Elizabeth Stallings (w/o Bayard Stallings), probably migrated to Ohio circa 1840. Would appreciate any information on this North family of Holmes County, especially any names or locations for the children. Many thanks for any help you can give. Donnie Nazelrod
