    1. Wayne/Holmes Co, OH area
    2. Cindy
    3. If I've read the archives for this list correctly part of Paint Twp. was in Wayne Co. That explains why my ancestors from a century ago told that Christian Horein immigrated into New York and went directly to Wayne Co, OH, even though I've only found him in Holmes Co. (1840; the year he immigrated!) Are there other folks on this list with ancestors from Germany that immigrated ca 1840 and came to the Paint Twp. area? Cindy Kimes

    1. Holmes Co ties
    2. Cindy
    3. New to this list. I'm researching the HORINE/HOREINs that lived in Holmes Co, OH from 1840 to ca 1853. These HORINE families were part of the Winesburg Zion congregation and included the families of Christian Horine, Albright/Albrecht Horine, and their children. Both families were living in Paint Twp. in 1840. The Horine children married MARKER, BRUNEY, BUCKMASTER, and MARKLEY descendants and children born to the second generation were baptized in the Winesburg Church. Most of these families left the area ca 1853. Christian Horein moved to St. Joseph Co, IN; John Horine settled in Carroll Co, MO; Susannah Horine Bruney lived in Stark Co, OH; and Catherine Horine Buckmaster settled in Crawford Co, WI. Unknown what happened to Albright/Albrecht Horine; he cannot be found on an 1850 census anywhere. Perhaps he died in Holmes Co! Would love to chat with others connected to any of these families! 3. I am new to the list and thought I'd try posting my surnames. Hopefully, I"ll have some luck here! I am looking for Jacob ROOP/ROUP born in 1790 in PA. I don't know exactly when he died. Only that it was between 1850-1860. He married Susanna HOOVER on 16 Jan 1817 in Ohio. They had 7 children (I think). There may have been one or two more or less. The names I do have are: Barbara, Jacob, Daniel, Henry, Margaret, Lydia, Benjamin I have approximate birth years for each of the children. If any of these names look familiar please contact me. I'm trying to get more information about Jacob's death, but anything anyone could help with would be great. Thanks! Please forgive me if you receive this email more than once. 2. Allen Schieber
    3. HUTCHINSON, Joseph age 30, is found in the 1850 Monroe Twp. census with wife, Eliza age 20, and daughter Martha, age 9 months. This family is listed next door to Joseph & Susanna HUTCHINSON age 66 and 60 respectively, which is presumed to be parents of Joseph age 30. Interested in any information on this family and specifically trying to determine if Eliza died and Joseph married Martha McCALL as wife #2 ca1852-1853, and subsequently moved to Indiana.
