    3. I live in MO and travel to Ohio to do genealogy. The folks at the Holmes County Probate office have always been extremely helpful. I recommend going there if you get the chance. They have also answered a lot of my questions over the phone.

    2. Carol Montrose
    3. All marriage records should be available at the Probate Court in the county in which the license was issued...usually where the bride lived. After 1950 there is a state wide index but prior to that you have to know the county. Not only do I connect via the Altmans, but the Maria Catherine Lang/Long shown below is probably the one who m. Michael Beck and moved to Holmes Co, OH: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cribbs/milliron/fam00004.htm Though I have Anna Elizabeth's maiden name as Ludwick, not Milliron; I thought one of their children's baptismal records said one of the sponsors were the grandparents, named Ludwig, but I can't find that info now :^( I've also got lots more info on Elisabeth Conrad Assire's branch: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cribbs/milliron/fam00060.htm Let me know if you want it... 1. HORINE, FIGART, & SCHAFER/Sheaver (sp?)
    2. Cindy
    3. Maybe someone knows something about these folks: The 1850 census for Paint Twp, Holmes Co, OH shows: Christian Horine, age 50, Germany Catharine " , age 46, Germany Catherine Figart, age 70, Germany Christian and Catharine's son, Christian, was living in Tuscarawas Co, OH in 1850. The census info for him: Christian Horine, age 24, Germany Catharine " , age 19, Germany Phillip " , age 5/12, OH Marilla Sheaver , age 15, Germany It seems there MUST be a connection between the HORINEs, Catherine Figart, and Marilla Sheaver (who I figure was a misspelled Maria Schafer!), but I haven't figured out the relationship. The elder Catharine Horine was Catharine Rosine Horine, maiden name not yet known. Her daughter-in-law, the younger Catharine Horine, was Catharine Marker, daughter of Phillip and Katherine (Bauer) Marker. From what I've found, these families all attended Zion Church at Winesburg, OH. Maybe this info will help someone else! Cindy Kimes
