So if anyone on this list is searching for relatives with the KEIM/KIME surname, please drop me an email privately..... we're trying to find all our "cousins" and a couple of us are keeping records on all the descendants of our immigrant ancestor Johannes Keim. I'd be happy to look for your ancestor in exchange for info on your KEIM/KIME ancestors. (My database currently contains over 11,000 individuals.) Cindy Kimes
Hello Martha, This family is listed in the book "Descendants of Barbara Hochstedler and Christian Stutzman" under family #7722 (page 537). Peter is in the 7th generation mentioned in this book. It is written" "7722, Peter E. Miller (7), 7712, Millersburg, O., at death, was b. Jan. 1, 1863, at Shanesville, O., d. Apr. 28 1908, and m. Dec. 28, 1882, at Berlin, O., by Moses J. Miller, Elizabeth Yoder, now at Grove, Okla., R.2, Box 267, who was b. Dec. 10, 1862, at Berlin, O., dau. of Moses D. Yoder and Catherine Yoder, Hutchinson, Kans. Christian. (children): Eli, 7723; Moses, 7724; Noah, 7725; Denah, Dec. 26, 1885 - Aug. 9,1895; Rebecca, Dec. 1. 1896 - Dec. 1, 1896; Albert, Nov. 11, 1898 - Nov. 11, 1898; Sabina Alice, 7726; Estie Ellen, Oct. 15, 1904 - ." Hmmm. Okay, there is a slight error (typo) in the numbering system here. "7712" mentioned above should be "7713", who is a son of "7712". Peter E. Miller was the son of: "7713, Elias P. Miller (6), 7712, Sugarcreek, O., at death, was b. July 5, 1839, d. July 7, 1901, and m. (1) Barbara Coblentz who d. Mar. 17, 1864. Noah E., 7714; Peter, 7722. He m. (2) Sarah Weaver who d. Mar. 15, 1893 ......(8 children......; He m. (3) Widow Lydia (Miller) Shetler." This book is still available at the Gospel Book Store in Berlin, Ohio. I forget the exact price, although I think it is somewhere between $30-$40. I also forget the original publication date although I think it was ca. 1934-38. Is there someone who could go to the Ripley Church of Christ cemetery to photograph some markers for me? I will be happy to pay expenses. I am looking specifically for: John MILEY d: 15 Sept 1845 Eva Margaretha MILEY d: 10 Dec 1870 The MILEY Family History 1495-1964 by Paul Newcomer MILEY states that these persons are buried there. I have been looking for my wife's ancestor for some time and have hit a dead end. Levi Louis Butler, b. December 16, 1809, in Ohio, m. Eleanor Jones, February 28, 1833, Holmes Co., Ohio, d. June 20, 1887, Jefferson Twp., Knox Co., Ohio Eleanor Jones, b. abt. 1814, Holmes Co., Ohio, d. November 23, 1899, Jefferson Twp., Knox Co., Ohio 5 children I believe Eleanor's parents are John Jones, b. 1760, Harpers Ferry, VA & Eleanor ???, b. August 15, 1771, ??? In the 1850 census for Jefferson Twp, Knox Co., Ohio, Levi Louis Butler's mother is 86 and living with them. Her name is Ellen, born in VA To be able to find Levi Louis Butler, I have found 3 Butler families in Holmes Co., 1830 census: Jonathan Butler in Prairie Twp. John Butler in Killbuck Twp. William Butler in Millersburg (Hardy Twp) Of these, Jonathan was well established. He married Sarah Morgan and had many children. So that leaves John Butler or William Butler. I am not getting any "hits" on the IGI using either John or William Butler married to Ellen or Elenor in Virginia or Ohio in 1800 plus or minus 20 years. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks Steve

I need help with a KOONS and a MILLER family in either Holmes or Tuscarawas County Ohio. Not sure which: On 16 Jan 1838 there was a marriage in Holmes County Ohio between Henry KOONS and Susan MILLER. Soon afterwards they moved to Montgomery Co Ohio, and around a year later to Miami County Ohio. I would like to know the parents, siblings, etc of these two. Their first child was born soon after the marriage which may have prompted the quick move to southwest Ohio. Henry was born in Aug 1812 in Maryland, and died in Miami County Ohio on 20 Nov 1901 in the county infirmary. Susan was born circa 1815 in Pennsylvania, and died between the years 1860 and 1870. They are buried without stones in The Freidens Lutheran Church Cemetery, Newberry Twp, Miami Co Ohio. I suspect (no proof) that Henry was a son of Leonard KUNTZ and Susan SPIECKER of Tuscarawas County Ohio I also suspect that Susan may have been (no proof) a daughter of Henry MILLER and Elizabeth MIZER The children of Henry and Susan (Miller) Koons were: (1st two born in Montgomery Co, last four in Miami Co Ohio) 1-Sarah..... born 21 Apr 1838, d 17 Oct 1865, mar Michael KATHERMAN 2-Mary C.... born 21 Feb 1840, mar Moses ETTER 3-John,..... born ca1841 4-William... born ca1843, mar Amelia BAYMAN 5-Samuel,... born ca1847, mar Nancy Ann GAUBY 6-Isaac,.... born ca1849 Thank you Joe Bosserman Covington, Miami County Ohio joe.boss@voyager.net >
