Janet - did any of your Shearer family go to PA? I have some information on a Samuel Shereard/Sheared (spelled various ways) whose father was a John. Samuel was b. 1810 in PA. Only reason I have this information is because this family and my MARSHALL family were supposed to be close friends and came to NE together from PA. I have a compendium article about this Samuel. Does anyone have access to the Church records of the Salem reformed Church in Saltilio, Machanics Twp? My gggrandparents are suppossed to be buried in that cemetery. Their names are David Salomon Frey and Susanna Henriette Deroche Frey. He died in 1892 and she died in 1906.
I would also like information on the Dougan/Dugan family. I have a Fanny Good b. PA abt. 1806. Her father had brought their family to Killbuck area of Holmes Co. in the 1820's from PA. I did find a marriage record for Fannie and George DUGAN recorded in Coshocton Co. and the marriage date was Jan. 2, 1824. That is the complete total of information that I have. Knowing where they were, about either of their families, etc. would help me much. Primarily searching the John Good family and his wife Elizabeth. If memory serves on how census's are numbered, each page has an A and B page. I am only guessing, but it looks like the pages were uniformly numbered from the beginning of each county form 1 to whatever the last page number would be. This is opposed to each township numbering itself.
Dear List....When I used the index for Phillips, David it sent me to the page. I found Johnothon and John so I checked the page no. and it was 231. I went to the next page and found David. So they don't always send you to the correct page. MVB
Rhonda, I have found the same problem with Ancestory. com with the census of what pages a person is on. I have usually found them on a page before what they have said they are one. Rick

Thank you for the reply. I have a Holmes Co. newspaper article from 1987 that is about the Buzzard family, but mentions Andrew Sparlin. I can send it to you if you don't have it. I'm trying to find out if the Ann who married Benjamin Sparlin was the second husband of my GG-grandmother, Ann R. Southward Sparlin Gallaher. Many of the facts about the two women are the same. However, I need to find something that will connect them. The information we have always had on Ann's first and second marriages came from her obit and may not be accurate. It said her first husband was Mr. Whitaker and they were only married 3 months before he died. The Benjamin who may be the brother of Andrew married Ann Twitty in 1838 in Barry Co., MO. So there is a difference in the name of the first husband. Then she married Wm. Sparlin. We have looked for a Wm. Sparlin who would fit Ann's family, but never found one. So it is a real possibility that we had the wrong first name for him. Thanks for any help!
