    3. A cyber-cousin sent me a newspaper article from 1963 about the McCulloch Cemetery in the part of Holmes Co. which was formed from Wayne Co. My 4ggrandfather, Jonathan GRANT is buried there with his wife and possibly my 3ggrandparents, Elizabeth TEMAINS Grant and John GRANT, Jonathan and Sarah "Sally" KELLEY Grant;s youngest child. Does anyone know what condition this cemetery is in today? Where is it located with directions from WOOSTER, OH? What genealogy, historical societies are active in Wayne and holmes CO., OH and what are their contacts, please. Thank you all very much. Margaret Shank ( Arvada, CO)

    3. I am searching for information on my three g grandparents John GRANT b. c 182 in Pa and Elizabeth TREMAINS Grant b. as daughter of Daniel TREMAINS on 14 DEC 1817 in Wayne Co. She and John were married 6 May 1838 in holmes Co., OH. My 2ggrandfatheer James was born in Holmes on 16 OCT 1840. In 1864 in Mercer Co., he married Isabelle S. ELLIS, the daughter of Johnathan ELLIS and Susanna PRICE ( b. 1813 in MD) E;izabeth TREMAINS Grant died in 1896 in Allen Co., OH I do NOT have a death date for John. Does anyone have any information on the GRANT and TREMAINE(s) families while they were in Holmes CO. I haver located them in the 1850 cenus for Prarie Twp.; however, the census indicates John, Elizabeth, and five of their six children had been born in PA. I have confirmed that Elizabeth was born in Wayne, OH and James in Holmes, OH. Thank you in advance for your time in this matter, Margaret Shank ( Arvada, CO) P.S. The first place I ever taught was the 1966-67 school year in Orrville, OH and I lived in Wooster. Little did I know of my ancestors then: I was on family turf!

    1. Bucy Cemetery
    2. I visited Holmes county last spring and found all the cemeteries I was searching for except the Bucy Cemetery. From the map I had it took us down a narrow road with homes on the right and then down a hill side. Is the cemetery maybe on someone's personal property? I found lots of Bucy's in other cemetery's but Matilda, Thomas, and Elizabeth are listed as being buried in the Bucy Cemetery. Has anyone done any more research on the Barnes Cemetery? Don't think there is a complete list of who was buried there. Lewis Reynolds is listed d. 1829 - my GG Grandfather's Addison's, b. 1824 in OH, uncle. Lewis's wife Lydia was listed with children next to James my GGG Grandfather. (Lewis and James were brother's and came to Coshoctan county then later Holmes in 1823 on land records. Lydia married John Turner - Her children were easier to trace they stayed until older ages with their mother, Thomas, Levi, and Samuel ? Clarrisa. I am still trying to find out what happened to James Reynolds from Richland T.P. He is last listed in the 1850 census. He was 63 then. He was born in Nottingham PA (Quaker) Might help if I could find what religion he was following in 1820's and 30's in OH. His older children Matilda, ? 2 son's ? Levi and George were born in MD. Would like to find out if George Reynolds listed in 1850 age 36 in Monroe T.P. was possibly one of his older sons. His wife Prudence is listed on land records but I have not found who she was originally, when or where they were married. I think she was his second wife and was probably from OH. No record of marriage or when either died or where they are buried. Don't see a female that would be age of wife on 1830 census. James' youngest son was listed with him on 1850 census James - b. 1831. (Brick Wall for us) Dee Behrens (Reynolds) [email protected]

    1. WILLIAMS and CLOSE
    2. Scott Williams
    3. I need so help in solving a family mystery. My gg-grandfather was James Cornelius WILLIAMS. He was born in Gettysburg, PA on October 26 1831. He married a Harriet (Hattie) MCFARLAND who was born in OH around 1840/41 according to census information. They raise a family in Auglaize County, OH. She was not living in Auglaize during the 1850 census so I believe that she is from some were else in OH. Their children were Levi, Elizabeth, Matha, Cornelius, Benjamin, and Mary. All of the children were born in Auglaize County. I looked on the LDS web site and they do list James M. WILLIAMS born in PA in 1831 who is married to a Harriet CLOSE born in OH in 1841. They were married on June 6,1862 in Holmes County, OH. LDS also list their children as Levi, Elizabeth, Matha, Cornelius, Benjamin, and Mary. All of the children were born in Auglaize County with the same birth dates just like James C. WILLIAMS children. Since the family information is the same, could James M. and James C. be the same? What is Harriet real last name? Does anyone know about WILLIAMS, CLOSE or MCFARLAND in Holmes County in the Mid 1800s? Please e-mail me at [email protected] Scott Williams __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Send online invitations with Yahoo! Invites. http://invites.yahoo.com
