Hi everyone, I am researching my ggg-grandfather John J Peabody who lived in Brushcreek Twp, Highland Co, OH in 1850. He was 14 and by this census and he lived with his future brother in law Jacob Bish. John married Rachel Bish on 2 Nov 1856 in Highland Co OH. They had 3 children: Sarah Rebecca, James Cornelius m. Elizabeth Shipton, and Francis Marion m. Phoebe Susan Tudor. John died 13 Jan 1865 in Nashville Tenn while enlisted in the 175th OVI Co B in the Civil War. I am trying to find information on a Stephen Peabody who also lived in Highland Co. I would like to determine if he is John's father. Stephen is listed in the 1830 Paint Twp, Highland Co census age 30-40. In the 1840 Jackson Twp Highland Co census he is listed as 50-60. I could not find him in the 1850 census. It is possible that he either died, or moved. I have not yet found a death record or a will for this Stephen Peabody.
