In the book, Folklore Of Highland County, by Violet Morgan is mentioned Albert Jeremiah BEVERIDGE who served as US Senator from the state of Indiana, thus : Albert Jeremiah Beveridge, author and statesman, was born on a small farm near Sugartree Ridge, October 6, 1862, the son of Thomas H. and Frances Parkinson BEVERIDGE. When Thomas Beveridge lost his property in 1865 he moved his family to a farm in Illinois. Poverty heeled them and they lived a life of privation and hardship.
