Thank you all for responding. This is the data I have on the GALLOWAY-HIBBEN connection. John Galloway, b. abt 1760-70 m. Margaret ? b. Jan. 10, 1771, d. Feb. 10, 1850 in Hillsboro, OH - married in Gettysburg, PA. Three of their known children were: Margaret Galloway, b. Sept. 2, 1802 in Gettysburg, PA, d. 1881 in Hillsboro, OH Sarah Galloway John Galloway (Rev.) Margaret m. Samuel E. Hibben March 1827 in Hillsboro, OH Sarah m. Samuel Smith before 1827 and lived in Greenfield, OH John m. Belinda ? One of Margaret and Samuel's sons was John Samuel Galloway Hibben b. 1827and a grandson was Samuel Galloway Hibben b. 1888. In W. A. GALLOWAY's book, The History of Glen Helen, p. 42, ALBERT GALLOWAY was on a fund raising committee from Xenia in 1869 along with ABRAM HIVLING. ABRAM was married to SALLY MARY HIBBEN b. 1818 , dau. of WILLIAM HIBBEN b. 1790 of Wilmington, OH, brother of SAMUEL b. 1804. My grandfather, another SAMUEL E. HIBBEN b. 1870, graduated from the Union College of Law in Chicago, Ill in 1890 along with SAMUEL M. GALLOWAY, who would have been born about 1870 also. The HIBBEN family lived in Uniontown, PA about 1795-1825 and the generation before that was in Chester Co. PA about 1720. Perhaps someone will be able to find a connection to an established GALLOWAY line. Thanks for sharing your information. George Hibben
