Hi Norman, My interest in the ZINK line is this. One of the ancestors in my husbands PHILLIPS line is Martha Jane ZINK. Martha and John P. PHILLIPS were married in January of 1856, Highland County, Ohio. They named one of their children Samuel. In the 1850 census Liberty Twp., Highland County, there is this family. Samuel ZINK 41 Cabinetmaker OH Jane 31 " Eliza Jane 12 " David H. 11 " Josephine 9 " Mary E. 6 " Wm A. 2 " George M 23 Cabinetmaker PA Then there is this family. Eli ZINK 32 School Teacher OH Lavinia 27 Nathan H. 7/12 And then there is this family Mary ZINK 68 MD Elizabeth 37 OH Maria 27 OH It is possible that your Samuel and my Martha were brother and sister. Could the above Samuel be yours? Is it possible that your Samuel was married twice? Have you checked the 1860 census for him? Cohlera was rampant in Highland County in the 1840's and 1850's so there were a lot of second marriages.
