Hi! I am a descendant of "Gov" James Johnson Sr of Leesburg, Highland County, Ohio. I have a few questions I would like to throw out there to clear things up. First - I have always thought that most of his children were from his marriage to Mildred Moorman but came across this that said Penelope Anthony was the mother - any comments???? By his first wife, who was a Mooreman, he had two children, neither of whom, however, were settlers in Fairfield. By his second wife, Penelope Ashley, he reared a large family, - John, Elizabeth, Sarah, Joseph, James, Jesse, Mary, Judith, Penelope (Burgess), Anthony, Agnes, and Rachel (Lupton). Jesse Johnson, who married Mary Burgess, was the father of Elias Johnson, of Leesburgh, Michal (Milner), Edna (Cox), and Mary (Grice), all of Fairfield township. Of "Governor" we shall have more to say in another department of this chapter." This is kind of important as I am a descendant of James A Johnson Jr b. May 1775 and I would like to be clear on who his mother was. ALSO!!!! My James A Johnson Jr married a Mildred PATE who died in Highland County? in Oct of 1860 anyone have any info on her?
