Hi Pat, Thanks for the VA/WV 'lead' on Vanorsdal. I have 'kin' (another surname) who were VA/ WV, Brooke Co. It can get very confusing. I have a copy of WILLIAM NINEMIRE'S Marriage Certificate from the Probate Dept. of Highland Co, Paint Twp, filmed 1969 by the Genealogical Society at Hillsboro. In that certificate the name is written as RUTH ANN VAN DILLON, Perhaps, part of the family Americanized the name. By the way, RUTH ANN VAN DILLON passed away sometime between 1854 and 1868. Does anyone out there know anything about her death, burial, cemetery etc? (There's a chance she passed away during childbirth in Dec. 1865 or shortly thereafter). Thanks for any help !
