    3. Karen, There is no Ninemire (or similar spellings) in either of the following books: "Death Records of Highland County, Ohio (1867-1908)" by Genevieve Breakfield, 1993. "Cemetery Inscriptions of Highland County, Ohio" by David N. McBride & Jane N. McBride, 1954, reprinted 1990. In the book "Marriage Records of Highland County, Ohio (1805-1880)" by David N. McBride & Jane N. McBride, 1962, reprinted 1982, the only Ninemire marriage record is the one that you described. I did, however, find the following interesting entries in the book "Highland County Births, Volume 1 (1867-1878)" by Genevieve Breakfield, 1992, on page 66 and quoting from Highland County birth books Volume 1, page 82: "Ninnemeyer, John W. b. 9-23-1869 in Paint Twp. to William Ninnemeyer & Martha Ninnemeyer" Then, on page 67 (Birth Book 1, page 140): Ninemyer, Elizabeth b. 9-13-1871 in Paint Twp. to William Ninemyer & Martha Giffen" Those are the only Ninemire births in this book but, if this is the same William then it would tend to confirm your time frame for the death of William's 1st wife. Looks like he may have left Highland County in the 70s. Norman Runyon DOTY_CARSTENSEN wrote: > Hi Pat, > Thanks for the VA/WV 'lead' on Vanorsdal. In that certificate the name is written as RUTH ANN VAN DILLON, Perhaps, part of the family Americanized the name. > > By the way, RUTH ANN VAN DILLON passed away sometime between 1854 and 1868. Does anyone out there know anything about her death, burial, cemetery etc? (There's a chance she passed away during childbirth in Dec. 1865 or shortly thereafter). > Thanks for any help ! > > Karen Henderson > Sunnyvale, CA > >[email protected]< > > ==== OHHIGHLA Mailing List ==== > To Subscribe to the digest, OHHIGHLA-D, address your email to: > [email protected] and type: SUBSCRIBE.
