    3. Hi Patty, Actually there is only one listing, in that book, but Pleasant is mentioned twice in the same record. It is in the middle of page 57 and reads as follows: "BROWN, Doctor. Date: Dec. 14, 1854. Wife: Sarah. Children: Pleasant W., Henry W., Cary W., Mary J. Himes, Narcissus L., Eliza, Martha A., Amos, Harriet. Grandson: Layfayett B. Amos. Executor: William P. Hughey. Witnesses: Robert C. Park, Joseph L. White. Proven Feb. 17, 1855. Wm. P. Hughey declined the executorship and the court appointed Pleasant Brown, eldest son of the deceased, Administrator W.W.A. Sureties: Sarah Brown, Joseph Burgess. Appraisers: John Burgess, Aaron Lloyd, William S. Grove. The widow elected to take under the will." Just in case you don't already have these records from "Marriage Records of Highland County, Ohio (1805-1880)" by David N. & Jane N. McBride, 1962: Page 28: BROWN, Doctor m. Sarah BIGLEY Sept. 13, 1819 Page 29: BROWN, Pleasant m. Emily JOHNSON Sept. 12, 1825 by Andrew S. McClain, M.G. (Note: Andrew S. McClain was a minister in the M.E. Church.) Page 29: BROWN, Pleasant m. Sarah DOHERTY July 30, 1852 by M.G. Baker (Note: Milton G. Baker was a minister in the M.E. Church.) I'm guessing that Doctor Brown named his son Pleasant after his brother by the same name. Here is another record about Doctor Brown from the Wills Book, Page 241: "Aug. 10, 1865. Isaac Lupton appointed Guardian of Harry W. Brown aged 31 years, a lunatic and Harriet Brown aged 35 years, a lunatic, representatives of Doctor Brown, dec'd. Sureties: Peter Grim, Jesse Crawford." I'm not sure what the term "lunatic" implied in those days. Norman Runyon Patty & Charlie Brown wrote: > Hello everyone, > > Yesterday I put out a post looking for information on Pleasant W.
