My ancestor Morris Trout was killed in a logging camp accident in Highland County on or just before Feb 12, 1860, at age 49, according to our family tradition. Does anyone know of a reference to this accident, perhaps in a local newspaper, or a county history? He and his family lived in Russell Station; his widow Elizabeth Leeds Trout and their children continued to live there a short while before removing to Jasper county, Iowa.
