My Caldwell family came to Ross Co from County Down, Ireland ca 1800.as a group of orphaned siblings, lead by the eldest brother, John. One sister (the only one of the six whose name we do not know) mar. JAMES EDGAR. Some of the Edgar descendants later moved on to IA. This information came from a family history written in 1907 by one of John Caldwell's grandson's but by then the family had disbursed enough that some of the branches had lost touch with each other.
