Cowman who served in the Civil War and lived in Beloit, KS, is my husband's ggg-grandfather. I have since received his pension application. James had a younger brother, Samuel. Would this be the Samuel who is your husband's g-grandfather? I have a fair amount of information on the Cowmans now, unlike 4 years ago, but I don't have much on their life in Kansas.
