Happy New Year everyone!! In the 1850 census of Highland Co., Ohio, a Louisa Brubaker is living with the Peter Hatter family. She is 7 years old in this census. In this household, in addition to Louisa, are Peter Hatter and his wife Elizabeth, daughters Harriet and Lucinda Hatter. There is also an Elizabeth Camp living with them. In the 1860 and 1870 Census Louisa's name has been changed to Hatter. Louisa Hatter later married David Lawson. Would anyone be familiar with any Brubakers that lived in Highland County or other nearby counties before 1850? I would like to know who Louisa Brubaker Hatter Lawson's parents were. Perhaps she was orphaned and adopted by the Hatter family. Would appreciate any help. Thanks. Betty A. Honeycutt
