The first is that a cemetary in IA where people from Highland County are buried is that people have donated money to the cemetary and the old stones that were getting hard to read were replaced. I had never thought of donating money but I will from now on. The second is that where I live now by Branson, MO has a lot of smaller cemetaries that started on private land. Usually just before Memorial day they schedule clean-ups of the cemetaries. They have it printed in the paper starting 3 weeks in advance and whoever is interested shows up to help and usually has a picnic for the ones that show up. The first year might not be a good turnout but it will catch on. When things get started by small cleaned ups it takes less time each year to do it.
