    1. RE: [OHHIGHLA-L] Charles family
    2. Muji & Elaine
    3. Hi all- I am really interested in the will from 1821 in which Andrew Charles says that George Charles is not his son. Does that mean that he is really not his son, or that he is just being disowned from his father?! I would love to know if that will names the 5 children of Andrew and Elizabeth. Meanwhile here is some more CHARLES info to throw into the mix. Have to be careful, these CHARLES folks used a lot of the same names repeatedly. Hope it helps - Elaine there is one Andrew Charles on the 1820 census: 2 males under 10 1 male 26-45 1 female 16-26 Also there is a document in 1827 where custody of the minor children of Andrew Charles Jr. were given to Elizabeth Charles and Andrew Hatter. The 2 minor children were named James and Andrew. (There is an Andrew Charles on the 1810 census for Highland County OHIO, but I don't have the breakdown of that family yet. If anyone has it, please share! George Charles is not seen on the 1810 census for Highland County, but he married Sarah Sally Dempsey in Highland County in 1807) George Charles on the 1820 census is the only other Charles head of household: 1820 census Highland County OH, New Market George Charles: 3 males under 10 1 male 26-45 3 females under 10 1 female 10-16 1 female 26-45 1830 census Highland County OH - only 1 CHARLES family found: George Charles: 1 male under 5 2 males 5-10 1 male 20-30 1 male 40-50 1 female under 5 1 female 5-10 1 female 10-15 1 female 30-40 1840 census Highland County George Charles 1 male 10-15 1 male 20-30 1 male 50-60 1 female 15-20 1 female 50-60 "1850 Census Highland County, Ohio" New Market Township page 443 CHARLES, George, 69, M, farmer, 2000, PA Sarah, 63, F, VA George, 21, M, farmer, OH Sarah, 16, F, OH 1860 census, highland County OH Sarah Sally Dempsey died in 1852.
