We were not aware of his wife's name. My husband received the information we have in 1963 from Raymond G. Manker, 4027 E. Lincoln Drive, Phoenix, AZ. I put his information together for the DAR Genealogical Library in Washington, DC. I am the Georgia DAR State Chairman- Genealogical Records Committee, and prepared the papers according to DAR instructions for library use.

I have quite a bit on Jacob Manker but would be interested in seeing if you have anything I missed. I don't have his actual DOB (only the year 1766, near Baltimore); also, need date when he married Mary Lane. I have 6 children for him, with dates and their wives. I descend from his son Jacob, Jr. I had not found the "notice in WV" about a letter being held for Jacob. Can you give me the location, date or any other info on that? Thanks for your help.

We found a "George Manker " while doing research in West Virginia, Maryland, and Virginia this summer, but cannot prove the connection. A lady in Illinois sent me a notice that she had found a will abstract for a George Manker, but now she can't find the reference. We did find a notice in West Virginia that a letter was being held for a Jacob Manker about the time that William have moved to PA, before going to Ohio. We also have a lot a data on Jacob Manker from our Highland, Ohio research. Let me know I can be of any further help.

    1. [OHHIGHLA-L] ASHBAUGH GARRENS GEARNS POLLARD HAINES
    2. Judith Drake
    3. It is believed that Susanna ASHBAUGH had two sons before her marriage to Andrew POLLARD. They were John William ASHBAUGH (born 1849 in Highland County) and Aquilla ASHBAUGH (born 1851 in Pike County). The last name of the father of John William Ashbaugh and Aquilla Ashbaugh is thought to be GARRENS or GEARNS. Susanna Ashbaugh married Andrew Pollard about 1853, and after he died she married Joshua HAINES about 1876. Susanna was born February 1828 in Pennsylvania. She died 15 July 1895 in Pebble Tp., Pike Co., Ohio. Any information will be most welcome. jdrake@gulftel.com
