    1. Phillip Noland
    2. Phillip Noland and Nancy Williams were my 3rd great grandparents. I haven't been able to find out any information on them except what was in our family records. I would like to know who their parents were and where in Virginia they came from. Maybe someone can help me out. Phillip was born in Virginia in 1775. He married Nancy Williams when he was 38 years old, so it is possible that she was a second or third wife. She was 33 years old at the time, so she could have been married before also. She was born in 1780 in Virginia. I would like to find out if there were any children by a previous marriage. They were married September 30, 1813 in Highland County, Ohio. They had three children (at least) Benjamin, Phillip and William. They possibly had a daughter, Susanah Nolan who married Daniel Kneisley in Highland County on October 16, 1842. Most of the Nolands that I know of ended up in Boone County, Adair County, Woodward,Iowa, or Prescott, Michigan. Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated! June Noland

VIERS, J.P. of Union Township. 2: According to the Highland County Records of the Recorders Office (1805-1850): Original Deed Book, page 418: 13 Oct 1846, John Wagner & Adeline his wife to Samuel S. FARRAR, 40p. Didn't find anything else on Samuel but there are a lot of records on a William FARRAR. Don't see the FARAR spelling in any records. 1. McCoy/Mullinix
    2. John C. Rutherford
    3. Hello from Southwest Missouri! I just recently obtained two tintypes of Highland County, Ohio, residents from the Civil War era. Does anyone have a family tie to the following people. 1) Daniel McCoy was pennyless at 20 years old in 1860 and was living with a landlord in Rainsborough, Ohio. In June 1861, McCoy enlisted as a private, but his enthusiasm caused him to rise to Sergeant, 1st Sergeant, 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, Captain, Lieutenant Colonel, and Brigadier General by 1864! I have tracked McCoy to Wheaton, Illinois, by 1880. By 1893, the 24th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment reunion organization has him listed as living in Des Moines, Iowa. 2) Edward E. Mullenix was 20 years old when he enlisted as a sergeant in 1861. He received two commissions, reaching the rank of 1st Lieutenant of Company I when his enlistment ended. I know nothing else about this veteran, but have obtained his tintype. I do not have access to Highland County, Ohio, histories here, so I need some help. Even if Daniel W. McCoy or Edward E. Mullenix are not someone recognized as a family member, does anyone know how I might contact either of these two men's descendants? I offer my sincere thanks for your reply. John C. Rutherford
