    3. Hi there, I am new to this list and was wondering if anyone on this list gets the Times Gazette for Hillsboro, Ohio. I am looking for an obituary I think it is in the April 26, 1999 edition. The obituary is of a John D Williams. This man is the father of my son-in-law. My son-in-law never knew his father. We would love to know what the obituary says. My daughter and son-in-law have a 16 month old boy named Matthew and it would also be nice to know the medical facts if there are any. Does anyone out there have this paper around the house yet and if so, would you be so kind as to type the obit. to me. Thanks so very much for listening. Jeen

    2. Constance
    3. My aplogies for the lengthy roll call list for the decendents of my ancestors in my direct family line. Some may have been confused about that part. My intentions were to have lookups on two of my oldest ancestors in my list sent to you. The rest of the names were for private mailings to make contact, connect, exchanges, and updates for those responding to my roll call. It is clear that Isaiah McNEESE and Bloomer WHITE are the ones that we need to lookup because our genealogies stop there with those two and go no further for many, many surnames in our families. Thank you all that responded to the email and those of you, who did lookups and even made contact, connections, exchanges, and updates. This all was very helpful in the WHITE - MCNEESE - CAMPBELL Family Web Site, which archives records. It was my pleasure to do lookups, send out exchanges of records and updates, and to meet some of you personally. I want to ask that those of you, who might have been confused in my post to understand that I sent out a correction and tried to clarify my request in a simple statement. Please respond to the lookup if you are in the family and be at liberty to contact me if I can be of help to you in anyway. I try to do some research for the family or those with related interests though my time is limited. I give instructions on how to find what you need if I am unable to do so. It was a great Mother's Day and since I did not say Happy Mother's Day to those of you, who are mothers, then I hope it was a good one for you. Kindly, with regards, Constance

    3. LOOK UP AND UPDATE ON RECORDS: Please do a look up of these names if you will. They are from the WHITE and MCNEESE families. McNeese is spelled over 600 variations of spelling so you have to look closely for them. They might be under the M's, Mc's, or N's. These are the names, dates, locations that I am requesting for a lookup. Anything that you have on the WHITE - MCNEESE families would be much appreciated: THE FAMILY SURNAMES ARE: McNEESE (with all the various deviations of spelling) McNeese, McNees, McNice, McNiece, McNeice, McNaois, McNeace, McNease, McNish, Neese, Nees, Ness, Nese, Naes, Neas, Nish, Neis, Nase, Niese, Nies, Nice, Neisse, Mackernss, etc. (deviations on spelling) WHITE - HAWKINS - DOSTER - MORRIS - CROUCH - CAMPBELL - BAXTER - WOOLSEY - BISHOP - MALTSBERGER BEALS/BAILS - KEEN(E) - YEAKLY - MOONEY - HOPKINS - TODHUNTER - GEESLING - HOOPES - MARSH SLAUGHTER - STEAL - ELLIS - MAGILL - ATTAWAY - EUBANKS - BRUNSON - BAKER - REID - MCELROY - BASKETTE MOULTON - GEESLING - STARNES - CRUMLEY - COTTER - DAVIS For an extra LIST OF SURNAMES go to: http://members.spree.com/sip/palisades/history.htm There are over 400 SURNAMES there to guide you with or by in your lookup research. I would like to try to find their origins in the USA and believe the origin to be PA but have very little on them there. DATES ARE: 1736 - 1999 (1736 is the date ship arrived in the Port of Philadelphia, PA where the families of WHITE and MCNEESE came with their children with them. They found a place to settle and live in PA in some County there until they began to migrate elsewhere. 1736 is when the family migrated from IRELAND to the USA. They may have taken a Port out of ENGLAND rather than sailing from IRELAND. 3. Hello All... I am new here to the Mailing List. I would like to get lookups, exchange records, and make connections. Personally, I have errected a Family Records and Archives Web Site in behalf of this mailing list and those in it with regards to my very large family Genealogy of the geographical area here pertaining to the WHITE and McNEESE families, which obviously has something to do with this thread. It includes records on Surnames, Genealogies, Histories, Ancestries, births, marriages, deaths, immigration, wills, military, divorces, children, etc. I hope to go into more specifics with you in the near future about it. It is a contribution to the areas, Counties, Countries, Names, and Histories to many locations. Try it out and take a look at it. If you find anything worthwhile then let me know and if you can contribute further to it then let me know. Someone in your family might be listed here. Try doing a look up for further information on connections. There are over 8000 individuals listed and over 1900 Surnames listed. (Too many to list them all here in this mailing list so take a look to see if your family is listed here) I wish that I could list all the information here at one time that pertains to this thread but it is so vastly large that I can only contribute parts at a time. So, in the meantime, I am sending the Web Site in whole as it is very huge. So please view it at this time while you can and Bookmark it if you will. http://members.spree.com/sip/palisades/history.htm Constance

    1. [OHHIGHLA-L] Henry Massie Family of late 1700's to early 1800's
    2. Rinda Lynn Ferguson
    3. Hello Everyone...... :-) Is there by chance anyone on the list that might know of the siblings of Henry Massie? He helped in the surveying and scouting of the land in this area for the Virginia Military District in the late 1700's, plus helped in laying out of the town of Chillicothe. I have come across some information about my Charles Ferguson possibly marrying a Rachel Massie from around the Fincastle area of Virgina. I do know that my Charles Ferguson did move into the Chillicothe area about the same time as the Massie's. So, I am wondering if by chance Rachel would possibly be a sister of Henry? Any help would dearly be appreciated in this. Rinda Lynn Ferguson.............

    3. In "Cemetery Inscriptions of Highland County" pg.415 ,last paragraph, " Old newspapers refer to this cemetery as Overman, Fall Creek, Hicksite , Upper Fall Creek, Upper Quaker , and Stringtown. It is still used for burials. There are a few field stones for monuments. " This land was deeded originally to my ancestor Enoch Overman , and they were Quaker . D. Scheck

    1. [OHHIGHLA-L] THANK YOU!
    2. Pat Asher
    3. My thanks to all of you who responded to my question on the Hicksite Quaker Cemetery near New Petersburg. You've been a big help. I'm always amazed at the generosity of genealogists -- their willingness to share information, and give of their time to do so. I've tried to respond to each of you privately. If I've missed anyone, my apologies and, again, my thanks.
