Hello. I think we're related. I am part of the Wheeler family, and I descend from them in more than three different lines. Can you share with me what you have on your Bosleys? One of my lines is through Benjamin Wheeler II and his wife Eleanor Bosley. Benjamin was the son of Benjamin Wheeler and Keziah Murray. Benjamin II and Eleanor had many children, a good deal of which remained in the Harrison/Jefferson Counties region of Ohio. The children that I know of were: James Wheeler (abt. 1785-1872, married Elizabeth Cramblett, then Jane Stiers) settled in Jefferson County and had a large family there. James was named after Benjamin II's brother James. Mordecai Wheeler (abt. 1787-187?, married Keziah Murray Gill, a cousin of his) settled in German/Green Townships in Harrison County and had a large family there. I descend through their daughter Mary Ann Wheeler who married Harrison Miller. Mordecai was named after Benjamin II's brother Mordecai. Mordecai is a Price family name. Caleb Wheeler (abt. 1787-18??, married Mary DeHuff) settled in Jefferson County, and may have moved on to elsewhere. Caleb may just be a cousin, but it is very likely that he is from this family. Caleb is a Price/Bosley family name. Eleanor Wheeler (178?-18??, married Amos Chambers) settled in Jefferson County, and may have moved on to elsewhere. Eleanor was named after the mother Eleanor Bosley. Rachel Wheeler (married Benjamin Richey) settled in Jefferson County, and may have moved on to elsewhere. Rachel was named after Rachel Bosley (Eleanor's sister), who married Benjamin II's brother Richard. Thomas Wheeler (married Rachel Tipton) may not be a member of this family, but there is a strong possibility. ------------------------------- Benjamin II's brother Nicholas Wheeler also came to Harrison County with his wife Drucilla. That family has been pretty well documented by myself and many others on this list. ------------------------------- There was some confusion until recently about Benjamin II. It was long said that Benjamin II (son of Benjamin and Keziah) moved to Kentucky and there were a list of children that looked nothing like the list above. However, I have recently proved that this was in fact a different Benjamin Wheeler from MD (I don't have his parents yet), about the same age as Benjamin II, who also married an Eleanor, but Eleanor Stanisbury, not Eleanor Bosley. ------------------------------- I had Rachel Bosley as the daughter of Joseph Bosley and Mary Spicer Hall, but this is based on information I received from an Eileen Colgan, and I have not done any research into this myself. I have, as of yet, no proof of this connection whatsoever, other than her word. ------------------------------- Look forward to hearing back from you. I don't have your Samuel Bosley in my tree. The only Samuel Bosley I have is Rachel & Eleanor's nephew Samuel W. Bosley (son of their brother Daniel). I'm sure they tie in to your family somehow, though. I'm excited, because I am also a Kail descendent! I didn't know the parents of Jacob Bosley until I read your e-mail. Have tons on the Kails, though! He was born in MD in 1776 and was a veteran of the War of 1812. Wife was Mary ROBERTS. Conflicting stories of his death in 1854 - one says he was killed in Steubenville, another says Bridgeport. Searching for burial place and any info on wife - did she come to Ohio with Samuel and if so, when and where did she die? Eight known children all came to Ohio also. One son, Thomas, was married to Sarah HILBERT in MD. Another son, Jacob, married Elizabeth (Betsey) KAIL. In 1870, Samuel & Elizabeth bought 135 acres from John Kail in Harrison County.
