(To Larry Dickerson): The gender of the six-month baby "Name Unknown" is not noted!! There is a short line in the box where M or F belongs, which may or may not be a ditto mark. If it is, then it means F, like the child listed above. The ditto marks made by the census taker in other parts of the page are mostly normal, two-line ditto marks, but there are cases where he made the marks awfully close together. Makes you wonder what happened when the census was taken, eh? Maybe Baby was asleep, and the family just said, "DON'T WAKE BABY!" and didn't tell the name -- maybe Baby was sickly and they avoided naming him/her in case s/he passed away? Hard to know!
