The Harrison Telegraph, Cadiz, Ohio, Wed., July 9, 1823 STOP THE THIEF 100 Dollars Reward On the night of the 26th ult. I was robbed in a small village called Jefferson, in Harrison county Ohio, of about $900, seven hundred and forty dollars of which was in ten dollar notes, on the Farmers and Mechanics Bank of Steubenville. The man who robbed me, was my bedfellow, and called himself Edward Johnson. He is about five feet eleven inches high, of a dark sandy complexion, had on at that time a half-worn fur hat, blue coat, black vest, dark grey pantaloons, and Jefferson boots. He appeared to be about 30 - 35 years of age and of tolerable good appearance. The above reward will be given to any person who will secure him, so that I can get my money again. In Green township Harrison county, Ohio and there died very suddenly. He called himself John Robison, and said he was a distiller, and came from Lancaster PA. He had a small black mare, supposed to be about three years old, and an old saddle and pare of saddle bags. He has been decently buried and his effects have been sold. There will be a small balance left after paying all expenses, which his friends, if he has any, can have on applying to the subscriber JOHN WAGONER Green township H.
