April 21, 1869 (d. aft 1944) married Frank Albert Hagedorn b. June 1, 1868 Cadiz, O d. April 13, 1935, buried St. Clairsville; was county commissioner at Belmont County two terms, merchant at St. Clairsville, Ohio. Four children; Myrtle, Floyd, Samuel, & Dorothy. Sarah d/o Louisa Pittis b.March 8, 1843 d. Jan. 27, 1923, aged 80; married Aug. 2, 1866 Samuel Alexander Moore, b. Sept 22, 1843 Mt. Pleasant, Jefferson Co., d. Jan. 1921 aged 77; both buried Cadiz. Samuel s/o Andrew and Sarah McCormick Moore. He enlisted in the 1st Regt. W.Va. infantry at the outbreak of the Civil War and spent four years and eight months in the service; was in the battles of Winchester, Va; 2nd Bull Run, Cedar Mountain, Cross Keys and New Market; was taken prisoner at New Market June 15, 1864, and was in Danville and Libby prisons until Feb. 22, 1865; was in the Quartermaster's dept. until the close of the war; was not wounded but was near death in a hospital at Cumberland, MD., from drinking spring water that supposedly had been poisoned by the rebels. He bought and lived on the farm three miles south of Deersville that had been the James and Sarah Pittis Abraham farm. When George Pittis, his father-in-law, moved to Scio in 1882, he bought the George Pitt! is house, moved to Deersville and took charge of the grocery and produce store and the packing and shipping of produce to Pittisburgh for four years. He was elected county treasurer and served two terms 1886-90, residing in Cadiz. He held a responsible position in the building of the present courthouse; was traveling salesman for several years for E.M. Long & Sons, lumber-dealer of Cadiz; bought the McGavern farm near Connotton, where they lived for more than ten years until his death.
