Thanks Esther, I'm dissapointed, but at least I know to look elsewhere. Just a suggestion: I provided a very helpful library with citations I had obtained from a printed source that stated the will I wanted was in Book X, page whatever and the library agreed to look it up. I also included the names and dates of the folks involved. A couple of weeks later I did receive the copies I was looking for but the librarian notified me that only one of the citations I provided her was correct. Since I had provided the names and dates, she just went ahead and looked them up and copied them for me. Don't despair that the documents you are searching for aren't there. They may be but remember the folks that made the indexes made mistakes too. I gave them 5 citations and 4 were wrong and not just by changing a D to an O!!! page numbers and everything were wrong. If you can pay someone to lookup the information or if you can order the microfilms from your local Family History Library you will probably find what you are looking for but under different book numbers and/or pages. I don't know if it matters, but for wills and such prior to 1850, the FHL has a microfilm with a BIG index of such records encompassing several counties. I even found several ancestors that had wills recorded in Hamilton County despite the fact that they died long after the county they lived in split from Hamilton County. I don't remember how it is titled, but if anyone is interested I will try and find my notes. Karen, Thanks so very much for the information. If you find more please let me know. I'm beginning to feel a bit more hopeful, that I will eventually find this will.
