Nance, Did you get a reply to your query about a birth lookup for 1809? I also am searching for birth information for the early 1800s and am very interested to any response from your question. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Maddox, Stokley Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1YB.2ACI/720 Message Board Post: Wilson and Jane Maddox appear in the 1850 census of Harrison County, OH. I think they're two different head of households. I believe my G GF John D Maddox was either part of one of these families, or was living with them in 1850's. Family story is that he "took" the Maddox name when he moved to IL in 1855-56. He may have had previously had a surname of Stokley. Very confusing. Any help/leads would be really appreciated. Gene

Last time I saw this book mentioned on this list, it was believed to be out of print, and $50 when available. I don't know when it was reprinted, but I just ordered one for $21 including shipping, from https://genealogical.com, and they indicated that it was in stock. Couldn't resist, I have about a dozen ancestors in there, according to some distant cousins.

I am so excited to meet you. I think we could have a connection here, but I don't have any dates for what names you have. And I apologize for not checking the message boards lately..and we have been in and out a lot this year. So I've not been too dedicated to family research for the past 2 months. I don't recall my exact inquiry, but please note I am interested in finding out Dias's parents and where they were from. And the Beltz heritage and Elizabeth's parents. Nothing can be found among older family papers that my cousin has showing any Fowler/Beltz I received my information from the 1880 Census Gilmore, Tuscarawas Ohio. At that time Dias was 39 yrs old. Which would make his birthyear 1841. My interest began with one of his sons, James Fowler b.1874 as he is my gr.grandfather. This is the oldest information I have: (maybe I gave this to you already?) Dias Fowler (I believe he has a middle initial of N b.1841 married Elizabeth Beltz 3/15 1862 Harrison Ohio In 1880 census for Tuscarawas He was a sawyer (sawmill operator) Wife: Elizabeth 37 yrs old David A. 18 yrs (sawmill worker) Elmer E. 15 yrs John 11 yrs V.Della 9 (was known by my 2nd and 3rd cousins as Aunt Dell) James 5 yrs old I would say you can go by Dias and not the A, as in the handwritten census he D in David could be taken for an A and we know that couldn't be Would appreciate if you have any dates for your folks and I don't know if I have helped you or not. I'll continue to keep checking. Please email me direct [email protected] Thanks alot
